Born in the Paris region in 1982, Julien Daubignard is a French painter whose work is rooted in the study of direct observation and the practice of painting outdoors. Self-taught, he has developed his artistic language through a rigorous exploration of drawing and the fundamental principles of painting.
His work explores a wide range of subjects — from landscapes, spanning Paris, Brittany, the Île-de-France countryside, Touraine, and the Netherlands (where he lived for thirteen years), to portraiture, the nude, and compositions derived from his own preparatory studies. Rejecting the use of photography in his creative process, he favors a direct relationship with his subject, supported by drawing, watercolor, and a constant search for new places and subjects.
His work revolves around several main themes: Landscape Portrait and nude Still life
le paysage ;
le portrait et le nu ;
les natures mortes
